DCDC2 Gene Data

This web page was produced as an assignment for Genetics 677, an undergraduate course at University of Wisconsin: Madison.

Summary:
This gene encodes a protein with two doublecortin peptide domains (3). These domains have been shown to bind to tubulin and enhance microtuble polymerization(3). Mutations in this gene are associated with a reading disability known as developmental dyslexia (3). This page contains the DCDC2 gene sequence and an image of where it is located on the choromosome. The DCDC2 gene has a total number of 186297 basepairs. The human DCDC2  gene is located on the p arm of chromosome 6 in band 22.1 which ranges from 24466259 to 24279962 basepairs.
